Cazadero, CA - Catheys Valley, CA
3h52 - 234 mi (377 km)
After a nice break in Cazadero for several days, we decided to take the road again and to change our plans because of the pandemic situation in South California. Instead of driving along the coast to Los Angeles and San Diego, we have figured it would be safer to visit the parks on the Eastern part of the state. We found an interesting Airbnb not too far from the Yosemite National Park, where they raise alpacas. The alpaca is a species of South American camelid mammal. It is similar to, and often confused with, the llama. Alpacas are considerably smaller than llamas, and unlike llamas, they were not bred to be working animals but were bred specifically for their fiber. Alpaca fiber is used for making knitted and woven items, similar to sheep's wool. The kids loved it! Tomorrow we will visit the Yosemite National Park on our way to our next destination.
